As a school community which values academic excellence, St. Gerard’s Junior School is at the forefront of what is best in education and technology in the 21st century.
Our pupils are introduced to ICT fom our Infant classes onward. Our IT curriculum includes robotics and computer programming, and collaborative learning is facilitated through interactive white-boards, Apple TVs, Chromebooks and Google school accounts.
Our staff, pupils and parents benefit from a cloud-based Virtual Learning Environment, via Google Classrooms, which facilitates learning beyond the classroom. It is truly learning without borders! It also makes online class learning from home possible – when this is necessary and appropriate.
The Junior School has been awarded the prestigious title of “Digital School of Distinction”. This accolade, accredited by the Department of Education, recognises excellence in the integration of ICT in enhancing the delivery of the curriculum, and in providing opportunities for pupils and staff to develop their ICT skills.
In sum, living in a fast moving and rapidly changing world, we strive to nurture innovative, flexible, adaptable, critical and creative young thinkers ready to take their place in our interactive world.
